Description
Many of you love our Bastardo as a dry rosé - now meet the Bastardo as a vintage-port-style, sweet dessert wine.
Pretty aromatics of cherry, violets, black tea and dark spice. The Bastardo Fortified is fresh and bright with a subtle sweetness that doesn’t overwhelm. A lighter, fruit driven style with vibrant acidity and seamlessly integrated spirit. The palate is elegant and beautifully balanced with superb length and concentration. A fine and flavoursome vintage port style which will build even more complexity with age.
"Deepish, bright youthful red colour with a purple tint. The aroma is fresh and youthful, raspberry and red cherry aromas, with a subtle touch of licorice from very good fortifying spirit. The palate is sweet and only light to medium-bodied, with attractive flavour and well-balanced tannins. It's just a baby, but is surprisingly really delicious right now. It could also age very well. A very elegant vintage port style. 93 points."

"Deep crimson. Sweet cherry aromas that take me more to the Veneto than to the Douro. On the palate, it's sweet and richly textured and I could imagine this would be very good with tangy hard cheese (it was good with parmesan, for example), and would give pleasure without long bottle ageing – though it would be interesting to see how it does age. There's freshness to balance the intense cherry sweetness on the finish."
